about us

Mid-America Festivals is the nation’s largest producer of outdoor single-themed events.  In 2014, we entertained nearly one million people in a wide variety of locations across the country.

Mid-America Festivals currently devotes its time towards developing some of the best festivals in the country. Mid-America Festivals, along with affiliated entities, owns and operates the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, the Trail of Terror (located in Minnesota), the Bay Area Renaissance Festival at MOSI (located on the grounds of the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa Bay, Florida), the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, the Michigan Renaissance Festival, St. Louis Renaissance Festival and many other events.  The company demonstrates its event production and promotion leadership by embracing all aspects of event production from specialty merchandise and corporate sponsorship to ticket sales and multi-media marketing.

Based in Minneapolis, Mid America’s staff is comprised of talented manager’s experiences in all aspects of entertainment. Mid-America Festivals began producing Renaissance Festivals in 1976 as a natural extension of its president’s career in major venue promotion and production. The company’s back ground ranges from rock and roll events like the Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, and Prince to event management for concerts like “Rock the Garden” in Minneapolis.

our formula to success

• Earn trust and integrity

Mid-America Festivals was formed in 1976 and we have over 40 years of documented work product that indicates a history of honestly, competency and success.

• Listen, be flexible, & adjust

We work closely with our partners to make sure that both they and our guests have quality experiences. Our long term relationship with many of our vendors and artists speaks to our ability to adapt responsively to these constituencies.

• Give back to the community

We are proud of our Spirit of Giving program where, over the years, we have worked closely with hundreds of schools, artisans, charities and non- profits by providing fund raising opportunities and making donations. We have generated millions of dollars in revenue and opportunities for the communities we serve.

• Maintain long term professional staff

An important aspect of our business model is that we have retained the services of a professional staff that allows us to create the vast majority of our work in house providing high quality, consistent work. We have a full time Graphic Designer on staff which allows us to produce our own promotional materials. Our Marketing and Communications Director purchases media and other advertisements in house which, once again, allows for high quality, consistency and long term relationships. Our security, parking and box office functions are for the most part handled in house.

• Deliver diverse entertainment

We produce great family fun events and historically themed entertainment. Our events can involve music, food, beer and wine tastings, live entrainment and animal acts.  We book live bands, reptile wranglers and comedians. Our guests sample diverse ethnic food and the latest micro-batch beers and local wines.
